Welcome to Cards by Amy K.

I am SO GLAD you stopped by to check out my blog!!! Here I will be posting my current projects for you to see. PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment. I would LOVE to hear what you think about what I'm working on. I have been a scrapbooker/paper crafter since I first caught wind of this wonderful hobby in 2006. I am lucky enough to get to spend my days doing something I love so much and which brings so much joy into my life. I first started scrapbooking as a way to pass the time as I found myself at home alone all day suddenly, now I can't imagine life without it. Too bad I don't get paid for it, then I really would have it all!!!

Handmade Anniversary Card

I made this anniversary card for my aunt and uncle, Shelia and Harvey, I used my minds eye lost and found Union Square paper pad in 6x6 for the back ground and for the sentiment I used a stamp from TPS studios and the flourish is a cricut die cut from the art Philosophy cardtridge. The black velvet flower is from bazzill and the red one is from Prima and the bling brad in the center is from the paper studio from Hobby Lobby.  Well, that's all for this card I hope you liked it. I will be back soon with a whole gift box of cards I made for a great friend as a Christmas gift. Check back with you soon. Hugs

Shabby Chic Birthday card

This is a birthday card I made for my aunt, Shelia.  I've really been into the whole shabby chic movement in crafting lately and wanted a card that reflected that style.I've forgotten the paper pad that I used sense I made this card over a month ago.  Please forgive me. I die cut the burlap using the tattered flourals die from Tim Holtz.  A word of caution when doing this, if you use the loose weave burlap like I did you have to be careful that It doesn't come unraveled on you.  I used a large flowral pebble with the image of the lady glossy accented to the back.  For the sentiment I used a stamp set from Close to My Heart and the matching die cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge for the cricut. That cartridge was made for Close to My Heart to work with their stamps.  I just love using it, It has so many good cuts on it.  Ok, that's it for this card.  If you have any questions or comments please feel free to ask.  I love hearing from you guys.  Talk to you next time. Hugs

Masculine Birthday card

I made this card for my cousins husband, Jeff. He's a rugged kind of guy and likes big trucks and going hunting.  Maybe I should have made his card in Mossy Oak camo, now that I think about it. lol.  I wanted a real masculine card for him. No flowers on this card lol.  I used the Graphic 45 designer paper, a Proper Gentleman for his card.  The stamp set is from Papertry Ink and the name escapes me.  I embossed it with champagne colored embossing powder even tho it looks more silver here. I didn't have to do much to this card I think the paper stands for it's self in this case.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card, make sure to check back later today and tomorrow, I've got a ton of cards to upload including some Christmas ones.  Hope to see you back here soon. Hugs

Masculine Birthday card for young man

I made this card for my cousin's other boy/child, Garrison.  He's almost a teenager and enjoys all the things that boys his age do.  I thought the four wheeler was a good fit for him.  Didn't want to put anything too childish on the card for him. No cutsie cards for him from now on. lol.the designer paper is from a Recollections pad and  the die cut is from the Dude! cricut lite cartridge and I think the letters may be from the Wild Card cartridge, the sentiment stamp is from Close to my Heart on a chipboard cut out. Hope you enjoyed the card today and hope you have a great day, Hugs.

Masculine Birthday card

I made this birthday card for my uncle Tim.  I used an older BoBunny paper line called Mama-Razzi for this card and alot of Tim Holtz products like the bird charm and the flowers and foliage and the fragment charms. I added the sentiment stamp from TPC studios and punched it out with an ek success punch. then finished it off with a pretty bow. I hope you enjoyed my card today, and I thank you for stopping by to have a look. I'll see you all back here tomorrow with another card. Hugs,

Happy World Card Making Day!

I have a new card for you today in Honor of World Card Making Day 2012.

This card was a birthday card for my Father in law, Dale.  I really love the rich color of this card.  I used a designer paper pad from Recollections and for the layered die cut in the back I used the Artiste cartridge from Close to My Heart for the cricut using the designer paper and bazzill card stock.  I used the styled labels die from Sizzix for the sentiment die cut. I cut that out from a piece of recycled packaging from a Tim Holtz product.  The Father die cut was made using the Teresa Collins cricut cartridge, Sophisticated.  I cut that out with bazzill card stock and white cover stock from Ga pacific. The seam binding is some Hug Snug white and I used Juniper glimmer mist to color it.  I just love the colors of this card.  I hope Dale likes it and I hope you do too.  I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  I hope you enjoy the rest of World Card Making day today.  Go and  make something crafty! Hugs
