Welcome to Cards by Amy K.

I am SO GLAD you stopped by to check out my blog!!! Here I will be posting my current projects for you to see. PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment. I would LOVE to hear what you think about what I'm working on. I have been a scrapbooker/paper crafter since I first caught wind of this wonderful hobby in 2006. I am lucky enough to get to spend my days doing something I love so much and which brings so much joy into my life. I first started scrapbooking as a way to pass the time as I found myself at home alone all day suddenly, now I can't imagine life without it. Too bad I don't get paid for it, then I really would have it all!!!

Masculine birthday card for Chris

This card was made using the Basic Grey paper line "Lime Rickey".  I used the Cricut cartridge; Elegant Edges for the red label piece and the notebook and tab dies are from Papertrey Ink.  I used stamps from Scrappy Cat and Inkadinkado and ink by Ancient Page.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I edged it with distress ink by Ranger, and an adage ticket from Tim Holtz,  I covered the notebook die cut with Pearl glimmer mist.  The leaf punch is by Martha Stewart and the stick pin is made by me.  I hope you enjoyed my card today, thanks for stopping by.

Birthday card for a special young lady

Penelope is not only my Niece, she is also my Godchild.  I love her and her brother very much.  They are the special kids in my life.  Penelope just celebrated her first birthday this month with a party at Jumping Jake's.  They have those huge inflatable jumping gym things.  (I don't know the technical name for them).  She had a blast playing with her brother and all the other children.  She liked to jump up and down and climb and slide down then do it all over again.  We had cupcakes and then opened gifts, which she got a ton of. lol.  Sense you only have one first birthday I wanted to make her a special card.  One that she can keep in her scrapbook and have forever.   I hope she looks back one day and likes this card.  She sure seemed to enjoy trying to pull all those balloons off of it when I gave it to her. lol.
This was a pretty simple card to make.  I used papers from My Minds Eye, the LaPaperie collection.  I added some snow cap white dabber paint to the edges, then I cut out the label shape with the cricut using the Elegant Edges cartridge and edged that in Vintage Photo distress ink.  I then added all the balloon shaped stickers from ek success then finished it off with a bow tied from some cream colored seam binding.  I hope you enjoyed my card today. Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday card for Wendy

This card was made for my BFF Wendy.  She's such a great friend and she never forgets a birthday so I wanted to make her a pretty little card to let her know how special she is to me on her birthday.

I made this card using the Basic Grey "Sultry" paper line.  Its an older paper line but still one that I enjoy very much.  I used stamps from Inkadinkado and used my Prisma colored pencils to color in the images. It uses Hero Hues chalk ink by Hero Arts in night to stamp the images.  I used my circut to cut out the circle and scalloped circle shapes.  I think you can find those shapes on the Alphalicious cartridge and I just used the gypsy to hide the hole cuts.  To finish it off I added some lace trim and some buttons.  I hope you enjoy this card today.  Thanks for stopping by.
