Welcome to Cards by Amy K.

I am SO GLAD you stopped by to check out my blog!!! Here I will be posting my current projects for you to see. PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment. I would LOVE to hear what you think about what I'm working on. I have been a scrapbooker/paper crafter since I first caught wind of this wonderful hobby in 2006. I am lucky enough to get to spend my days doing something I love so much and which brings so much joy into my life. I first started scrapbooking as a way to pass the time as I found myself at home alone all day suddenly, now I can't imagine life without it. Too bad I don't get paid for it, then I really would have it all!!!

XO Valentine's card

For this card I used a K and Co.  paper pad by Kelly Panacci called KP Valentine. For the  top note shape I used a Tim Holtz alterations die called Ornamental. For the flowers and the XO die cuts I used a cricut cartridge called Sweethearts.  The banner shape is just one that I hand cut from a rectangle.  I used my bow easy to make a double bow from satin ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts and the green glitter is from Doodlebug. The card stock is from Bazzill basics.  Other than that I just added a little bling to the flowers centers and that is all for this card.  Thank you for stopping by to check out my card. Hugs, amy k

Sweet Friend Valentine's day card for Robin

I used the gypsy to make this card base using the heart from the Close to my Heart Artiste cartridge.  I then used the same cartridge to cut out the doilly from patterned paper and then used the heart cut again to cut out the smaller heart from red patterned paper.  I stamped the sweet friend with versa mark ink and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. It's a pretty simple card made so easy by the cricut and the gypsy hand  held device for altering the cuts.  Thanks for stopping by to check out my card. I'll be right back, I've still got one more Valentine's day card to show you so don't go far.:) Hugs, amy k

Happy Valentines day card for Hubby start to finish

I made this card from a Close To my Heart paper collection called Roxy and a CTMH stamp set called Cherish the Day and punched it out with an ek Success punch, for the flourish, I used a Cherry Lynn Designs die and black card stock.  The strip at the bottom is punched out with a Martha Stewart's boarder punch. I made the flower from Bazzill card stock, added a satin leaf that I colored with olive vine glimmer mist, and then added some black satin rolled flowers by offray and a couple of rolled rose buds from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I'm including the video and it will give you any further information like the cut sizes etc. Don't forget to stay turned to the end of the video to see my first attempt at art journaling.  Thanks for stopping by today and having a look at my card. and I hope you enjoy the video.
