Welcome to Cards by Amy K.

I am SO GLAD you stopped by to check out my blog!!! Here I will be posting my current projects for you to see. PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment. I would LOVE to hear what you think about what I'm working on. I have been a scrapbooker/paper crafter since I first caught wind of this wonderful hobby in 2006. I am lucky enough to get to spend my days doing something I love so much and which brings so much joy into my life. I first started scrapbooking as a way to pass the time as I found myself at home alone all day suddenly, now I can't imagine life without it. Too bad I don't get paid for it, then I really would have it all!!!

Shabby Chic Birthday card

This is a birthday card I made for my aunt, Shelia.  I've really been into the whole shabby chic movement in crafting lately and wanted a card that reflected that style.I've forgotten the paper pad that I used sense I made this card over a month ago.  Please forgive me. I die cut the burlap using the tattered flourals die from Tim Holtz.  A word of caution when doing this, if you use the loose weave burlap like I did you have to be careful that It doesn't come unraveled on you.  I used a large flowral pebble with the image of the lady glossy accented to the back.  For the sentiment I used a stamp set from Close to My Heart and the matching die cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge for the cricut. That cartridge was made for Close to My Heart to work with their stamps.  I just love using it, It has so many good cuts on it.  Ok, that's it for this card.  If you have any questions or comments please feel free to ask.  I love hearing from you guys.  Talk to you next time. Hugs

Masculine Birthday card

I made this card for my cousins husband, Jeff. He's a rugged kind of guy and likes big trucks and going hunting.  Maybe I should have made his card in Mossy Oak camo, now that I think about it. lol.  I wanted a real masculine card for him. No flowers on this card lol.  I used the Graphic 45 designer paper, a Proper Gentleman for his card.  The stamp set is from Papertry Ink and the name escapes me.  I embossed it with champagne colored embossing powder even tho it looks more silver here. I didn't have to do much to this card I think the paper stands for it's self in this case.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card, make sure to check back later today and tomorrow, I've got a ton of cards to upload including some Christmas ones.  Hope to see you back here soon. Hugs
