I made this card for a special lady who just happens to be a wonderful aunt of mine too. Aunt Naomi. She is such a sweet lady and has always reached out to help others when ever she sees they are in need. She never has to be asked to pitch in when she is needed she just always seems to sense that she is needed and just jumps right in doing whatever she can to be of help. I know I am not alone in saying that I am ever so grateful for all the help she gave to my Grandfather after my Granny died. Naomi and her husband, Tim, live right across the street from my grandparents home and it was so helpful to all the rest of the family to have her there so conveniently to help him out with any book keeping or paper work or Dr's appointments and medications that he needed help with. She provided a priceless amount of service to him and in turn all the rest of us the rest of the family. That's not to say that Tim didn't help out too because he did his fair share too but Naomi seemed to always know what was going on in the household and could usually answer any questions we had or at least help us out in finding the info we needed.
I made this card using design paper from Close to my Heart, a journaling tag from K and co., a spellbinders doily die cut and a die cut from the art philosophy cartridge for the cricut. The sentiment stamp is from Hot off the Press, I hand died the seam binding with the vintage photo distress stain from ranger, bling from recollections and vintage buttons. Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my card, be sure and come back tomorrow and I will have a different kind of project for you. hugs
Welcome to Cards by Amy K.
I am SO GLAD you stopped by to check out my blog!!! Here I will be posting my current projects for you to see. PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment. I would LOVE to hear what you think about what I'm working on. I have been a scrapbooker/paper crafter since I first caught wind of this wonderful hobby in 2006. I am lucky enough to get to spend my days doing something I love so much and which brings so much joy into my life. I first started scrapbooking as a way to pass the time as I found myself at home alone all day suddenly, now I can't imagine life without it. Too bad I don't get paid for it, then I really would have it all!!!

A Birthday card for Nannie
This card was specially made for my husband's grandmother. We all know her simply as Nannie. She is so special to so many people. We all really just love her to death. I can't believe this is her 88th birthday, she's so spry and just gets around so well. She's maintained her home all these years with just a little help from family and home health care, overall I think she's doing really good. I put this simple little card together with some design papers from Basic Grey, flower die cut from Sizzix, a little glimmer spray, (some of them made by me), and a punch for the sentiment from McGill. Thank you for stopping by the blog today, I hope you all have a wonderful, sunny weekend. and I will see you back tomorrow with another card. Hugs

A Birthday card for a good friend
I made this card for my good friend, Sara. She is my oldest friend in the world and I always try and remember her birthday. I want her to always know how special she has been to me over all these years that we've known each other and still is to this day.
To make this card I used design paper from Prima, " the almanac collection". I added some vintage buttons from my stash and the orange flower is prima as well with some glimmer mist added for the color. The sentiment is punch from McGill and the stamp is from Hot off the Press stamped in chalk ink from Powder puff. Okay, that's it for this post. I know I promised it to you yesterday but, Hey, better late than never, Right? lol. Thanks for stopping by to check out my card, I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend. C U back here in a couple of days with another card, or maybe a layout or two? Would you like to see more layouts from me? Or what about some altered projects? I would be happy to do more of any of those things so leave me a comment and let me know what you would like to see more of. It doesn't have to be all cards all of the time, ya know? Also If you have any special request feel free to leave them in the comments too and I will see if I can help you out. Maybe you would like to see a certain technique done and explained or maybe you need help with your Cricut or Gypsy machines. It never hurts to ask, and you never know, I may just be able to help you out. Have a wonderful Friday evening, Hugz, amyk

Happy Birthday card for Penelope's 2nd Birthday
This year for Penelope's 2nd birthday I wanted to make a real cute card so I turned to my Create a Critter cartridge for the cricut. All the cuts on this card came from that cartridge. I used design paper from DCWV, "the sweet stack", and the card stock is from Bazzill Basics paper co. I added a little glitter glue from Martha Stewart for a finishing touch.
This is a shot of the envelope. I don't ever really decorate the envelopes because of them having to go thru the mail and possibly getting destroyed but I had just gotten this washi tape and it matched the paper line so good that I had to add it to the envelope. I think it's just so cute! This card was going to be hand delivered at the birthday party so I knew that It wouldn't be damaged by the mail.
Ok, that's all I've got for you today, thanks for stopping by, be sure to leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my card creations. I love to hear from you all. See you again tomorrow with another card. Hugs,

Birthday card for my SIL, Mel
Mel is not only a great Sister In Law but she is also a great friend. I just love her to death and she is such a joy to be around. She has this kind of upbeat spirit about her that just lifts you up.
I wanted to make her a special card so I broke out my favorite paper line, MME, "Union Square" stack. I used the Tim Holtz Tattered flourals die to make all the distressed flowers and the black card stock is from Hobby Lobby, the ribbon is from CTMH, the punch is from Mcgill and the sentiment stamp is from Hot off the press. I used inks from ranger in walnut stain and from Powder Puff chalk inks in marashino cherry. That does it for this post. Thanks for stopping by to check out my card. Hugs, amy k

Masculine Birthday card for my Grandfather
Is it just me are aren't Grandparents the most special people in the world. This Grandpa that I made this birthday card is my last remaining living grandparent and i just love him to death. His health is failing tho and i don't even know if he got to see this card I left there for him. Bless his heart I want to keep him around for as long as possible but that is for my own selfish reasons. I don't want to prolong his pain and suffering any longer than need be. I know God will call him home when his time here is done. We just try and spend as much time as possible with him now while he can still sit up and talk to us.
To make this card I believe i used a paper stack from Recollections and some spellbinders dies. The stamp on the outside cover is from Hot off the press and the sentiments stamp on the inside is from Hero Arts. I know there's not alot to this card but I try to keep my masculine cards fairly simple. I hope you enjoyed it and I'll be back soon with another card. Untill next time. keep on keeping it real. hugz, amy k

She has brought so much happiness and joy to my life. I could never thank her enough for all that she has given to me. I just try to be a good friend back to her. Birthday card for Mother in law
I made this card for my Lovely Mother in law, Judy. She's just the sweetest lady in the world and she has so much love to give. She and I didn't always see eye to eye but all that is behind us now and we have found that we actually like/love each other very much. I can turn to her for anything and I know that she will be there ready and willing to do whatever is within her power to help me out. She is one of the people I keep near and dear to my heart.
To make this card I started off with designer paper from My mind's Eye, " lost and found" paper stack. I layered the background pieces and distresses all the edges with worn lipstick distress ink from Ranger. For the die cut circle piece I used Die-namics "dizzy doily" die. The punch used for the sentiment piece is from ek Success. I also used a stamp from studio g in maraschino cherry by powder puff chalk inks. The flowers I used are from Wild Orchid Crafts, its the foundations puffy white daisy blooms and I colored them using glimmer mist in black cherry, electric blue, and juniper. I used a Prima flower center for the flowers. To finish the card off I added a piece of vintage lace to the bottom and some Martha Stewart seam binding in pink.
That's all for this post. thanks for stopping by today. I've got more cards to come in the next few days to keep an eye out. Talk to you again soon. Hugs, Amyk
