I know I've made a bunch of post today but I had several to catch up on. Its just that time of year when I have loads of cards to make. Lots of birthdays and anniversarys. This one is an anniversary card made for my Mother and step father in laws. The paper and floral die cut are from the Que Sera Sera line from k & company, card stock is from Bazzill basics, the large label is cut from the Elegant edges cartridge for the cricut and the small label is from the lacy labels cartridge. Stamps are from Tim Holtz for the flourishes and the sentiment is from Print works. I used some chalk ink and some distress inks. Hope you enjoy this today.
Welcome to Cards by Amy K.
I am SO GLAD you stopped by to check out my blog!!! Here I will be posting my current projects for you to see. PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment. I would LOVE to hear what you think about what I'm working on. I have been a scrapbooker/paper crafter since I first caught wind of this wonderful hobby in 2006. I am lucky enough to get to spend my days doing something I love so much and which brings so much joy into my life. I first started scrapbooking as a way to pass the time as I found myself at home alone all day suddenly, now I can't imagine life without it. Too bad I don't get paid for it, then I really would have it all!!!

Lady bug birthday card
My Mom had me to make this card for her to give to one of her good friends at work for her birthday. The lady loves lady bugs so I wanted to incorperate that into the design of the card. I used the Paisley cartidge for the cricut for the lady bug cut. The paper is from the Twitterpated line from imaginisce, stamps are from inkadinkado "Thoughs for the day" set, Ink is stays on in Jet black and distress ink in tumbled glass, I used my prisma color pencils to color in the flower. Love this sweet little card and hope you do too.
Just 4 you card
This card was made for my dear friend, Robin. I used a Graphic 45 stamp from Hampton Art for the lady and embossed her and used a studio g stamp for the label and sentiment. I also used some distress ink and some ek sucess bling and a prima flower. I am uncertain about the paper line, sorry. This is a good excample of a simple and fast to make card. Hope you enjoy this post today.
card with Florals Embellished
I made this card to send along with a package to a wonderful young lady named Tosha. I used a couple of cricut cartridges for this card. Using lacy labels for the background label. I also used floral embellished for the beautiful bird. I used stamps from inkadinkado and colored them with my prisma color pencils. I loved the effect. I also used some distress inks from Ranger. The paper is the Miraposa stack from DCWV. I hope you enjoy this card today and have a wonderful Memorial day holiday.

Happy Mother's Day card
I hope all you wonderful Mothers out there had a great day yesterday celebrating your day. I, myself, am not a mother and it makes me sad if I spend too much time thinking about it. I haven't been able to have children yet anyway being that I'm disabled and all. I still keep a glimmer of hope that one day I may become a mother though. I think that would be the single most important thing I could ever do with my life. I know it's a lot of work and it's a thankless job but the rewards must be out of this world. My brother and I and his two children spent the day with our mother yesterday. We had a great time with the kids doing some finger paint art for their mother and Dylan, who will be turning 7 this week, came and spent a couple hours with me and we made a card for him to give to his mother. He loves using the cricut machine.
I used Websters pages for the background paper and a stamp from Hot off the Press and colored it with my copic markers. I used some flowers from wild orchid crafts, and some that I made myself. The sentiment stamp is from studio g's ditto line of unmounted rubber stamps. Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Another Happy Easter Card
I just love Easter, It's such a nice time of year. Time to spend with family, friends and loved ones. Time for renewed faith. I really enjoyed making these Easter cards too. This one is for my Mom. It's a reflection of the inner beauty she possesses. The paper is from K & Co. My dear friend, Robin sent me this paper in a RAK not too long ago and I thought it was just beautiful. Forgive me, I do not know the name of the collection. I used my Tim Holtz rosette die to cut out the big flower. The smaller flowers are some I get from the bridal section of my craft store. I also used a couple of Prima's and a button for the center. The leaves are from Recollections; the stamp for the sentiment is from Close to my Heart. And the pink button is vintage. I hope you enjoy this card and that you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter.

Happy Easter card
Wow, I can't believe it's already Easter time. Is it just me or is this year just flying by? I love Easter time. The weather is just right, not too hot not too cold, the sun shining and the wind blowing. Just right for getting together with family and friends for that Easter dinner and Sunrise services. Not to mention new Easter cloths, lol.
I will be sending this card to my in-laws, Brian's mother and step father to be exact. I sure hope they enjoy it.
I made this card using the Honey Pie designer papers from cosmo cricket. The eggs were die cuts from the line and I just adhered them to chipboard and used my Tim Holtz/Tonic scissors to trim them out. I added little drops of pearl paint for the wraper on the first egg. The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado and I stamped it with versa mark in and used some zing embossing powder in chestnut. So that's it for this card. I hope you all have a very wonderful Easter this weekend and that you get to spend it with someone you love. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget I love to hear from you so leave me a comment before you go.;>

Masculine Birthday Card`
I made this masculine Birthday card for Tony, a good family friend to my husband and I. Tony has been a fan of my cards for a while now and even commissioned me to make his Christmas cards last year for his business associates. I wanted to do a special card for him. I have to give some of the credit for this card to my hubby, Brian. He had the idea for the colors and to go with the monochromatic grey for the back ground. He helped me design and pick out all the elements for this card. I used a stamp set from Hot off the press and stamped it with chalk ink from clear snap in charcoal, the embossing folder is from cuttlebug, and I used glimmer mist for the back ground. I want to thank you all for stopping by and checking out my card today. I hope you enjoy it, please come back later in the week; I should have some Easter cards up.

Black & White Birthday card
Thank you guys for coming by and checking out my blog today. I am so thankful for all of you who read my blog. The card I want to show you today was made for my Brother. Even though I make a good many of them, I still have trouble with the masculine cards. I tend to want to put a flower on all my cards. lol. I thing the black/grey flower is okay for a man card though. I made this card using the Paris Nights paper from g.c.d. studios. I used stamps from 7 gypsies and TPC studios. The flowers are prima and I used glimmer mist on them to get the color. Thanks for stopping by. I hope to have some Easter projects up soon.

Something Beautiful to share today
Check out the new flowers my dear hubby, Brian, brought home for me yesterday. Aren't they beautiful? I just love them. Those of you who know me well will know that I love flowers and plants of all types and that I have a much too large collection of potted plants in my house already. lol. This is called an Oriental Lilly and the flowers on it are just huge. I bet they are 6 or 7 inches aross, but I didn't measure them. Oh well, you will just have to believe me; they are really big. And best of all, they are pink! I love them, a big thank you and lots of love to my darling hubby, who I love to pieces. lol
